Bone GraftsClick here to return to Bone Graft Example Page Periodontal disease ultimately causes loss of jaw bone around teeth. Bone defects that are like pot holes next to teeth may be corrected by bone grafts. The graft materials may be the patient's own bone, demineralized allograft from a bone bank, bovine treated bone and even completely synthetic bone preparations. The
affected root surface must be thoroughly cleaned and detoxified, then
the bone material is packed into the defect and covered with soft tissue
sutured carefully into place. Click here to return to Bone Graft Example Page |
